Our lab is growing and we currently have openings for two PhD students. The lab uses advanced high-throughput genomics data to tackle problems in neuroscience using the mouse as animal model. We thrive at the intersection of molecular- and neurobiology, technology development and computer science and therefore encourage highly motivated students from diverse backgrounds to apply. 

Suitable candidates hold (or are about to obtain) an MSc degree (or equivalent), enjoy working independently, as part of a team and in collaboration with others, have strong, creative problem-solving skills and are fluent in spoken and written English.

Project 1 – Computational: This project involves development and application of machine learning tools for large-scale single-cell RNA-seq data.
Your profile: Candidates should have experience/knowledge in programing and a quantitative background such as engineering, physics or computer science. If neuroscience excites you, you’ve come to the right place.

Project 2 – Experimental:This project involves developing strategies to study neuronal connectivity at the single cell level in mice. Methods include engineered viruses and single cell RNA-seq.
Your profile: Candidates should be familiar with molecular and cell biology techniques and have deep interest in neurobiology. Experience with animal work, NGS and basic analysis skills are of advantage. 

The Technion – Israel Institute of Technology graduate school will enroll you in the international PhD program and cover 4 years of full-time studies on a scholarship. Our lab is affiliated with the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering, and located at the Lorry I. Lokey Interdisciplinary Center. Our lab offers excellent research facilities and interdisciplinary scientific training.
